Your matchmaker will search for potential matches for you across all of our matchmakers’ pools of clients. When one is compelling, she’ll review the file closely (often conferring with the other client’s matchmaker) before determining whether or not it is a good one.

We check for matches systematically but only present them when we feel they have strong potential. We run a behind the scenes search for each client every three weeks or so, but we will only present a match when we have a good one. When we do, we’ll call to tell you about it.

When your matchmaker has a potential match, she will call you to review the profile. She will also send it to your Matches page as a “Prospective” match. From this page (or over the phone) you can either accept the match or decline it and let your matchmaker know why.

Once both clients have agreed to a Prospective Match, it becomes an “Accepted” match. Once it has been accepted, we exchange e-mail addresses and phone numbers (with your permission) for you and both clients are encouraged to make contact with the other as soon as possible.

We do, however, require that, at a minimum, the man must make initial e-mail contact within 7 days of the date of the “accepted” match. Once the man has made initial contact, the woman has 7 days to respond in kind. If either party fails to be responsive after accepting a match, the introduction will be counted against them individually.

Whether a match has been Accepted or is still Prospective, the detailed profiles that you receive will be the same. Here is a sample:
